Kasespatzle with Ham, Sriracha braised mushrooms and crispy deep fried onions

Finally got to play with the spatzle shaker I ordered from Germany! One thing I can’t stress enough for this is that you need a strong cheese. I used a bier kase, people could smell it as soon as I brought it home. It was great! Ingredients

  • 2 onions medium , chopped fairly small
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour

Instructions

  • When the mushrooms are done, drain the remaining liquid and return them to the pan, then continue with the spatzle instructions
  • Whisk together the eggs and milk to make an egg wash
  • toss the onions in the egg wash then toss them in the flour. Deep fry 3-5 mins at 375F until golden brown
