Spicy Steak Sandwich

Ingredients
The Steak
- 250 g fast fry steak tenderized
- 1/4 cup steak spice
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
The Vegetables
- 1/4 cup mushroom sliced thin
- 1/4 cup green pepper sliced thin
- 1 tbsp sriracha
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Other Stuff
- 1/4 cup roasted red pepper sliced thin
- 1/4 cup marinaded artichoke hearts sliced thin
- 2-4 slices havarti cheese jalapeno or habanero flavour
- 4 slices bread thick cut, toasted in a grill pan
The Aioli
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tsp prepared horseradish
- 1 tsp chopped garlic
- 1/4 tsp dijon mustard
- 1/4 tsp balsamic vinegar
Instructions
The Vegetables
- Combine all the vegetable and marinade ingredients in a bowl. Make sure to mix thoroughly to fully coat everything. Cover and set aside to marinate briefly
- In a small skillet heat some vegetable oil on medium-high, once shimmering add the vegetables and stir fry for 4-5 minutes until the liquid has almost evaporated. Remove the vegetables from the pan and set aside
The Aioli
- Whisk together all the aioli ingredients in a small bowl, cover and refrigerate
The Steak
- Slice the steak into pieces roughly the size of the bread. Coat with steak spice and set aside.
- In a large skillet heat the vegetable oil on medium high, once shimmering melt in the butter, then add the steak to the pan. Fry until browned on both sides, 5-6 minutes, flipping half way through.
Assembly
- Turn on the broiler, add 2 pieces of bread to a cooking pan and build the sandwiches. Bottom to top: steak, vegetables, roasted red peppers and artichokes, cheese
- Broil the sandwiches open face for 1-2 minutes or until the cheese gets gooey.
- While the cheese is broiling spread the aioli on the top bread pieces
- Top the sandwiches, cut in half and serve.
