Garlic and Herb Focaccia

Garlic and Herb Focaccia Recipe by Raymond Selzer

Ingredients

For The Dough

  • 2 tsps yeast
  • 1 cup water warm
  • 2 tbsps sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

For the Herb Oil

  • 1 1/2 tbsps italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp parmesan
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsps chopped garlic
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  • In a large mix bowl gently whisk together water, yeast and sugar. Cover with a cloth and let stand in a warm spot for 10-15 minutes until the mixure foams up.
  • Add flour and salt while stirring continuously. Then add 1/4 cup olive oil. Stir til all liquid is gone, then knead with your hands for 5-10 minutes. Coat the dough ball with olive oil to prevent a skin forming, place back in the mixing bowl and cover again with a towel. Place in a warm spot for 1-2 hours to fully rise.
  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • Coat a baking pan with olive oil. Press out dough in the pan so it's about 1/2" thick. Press fingers into the dough all over to form dimples. Cover the pan with a towel and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl whisk together all the Herb oil ingredients til fully combined. Brush evenly over the top of the bread.
  • Bake bread at 400F for around 20 minutes til a golden brown crust forms on the top of the bread.
