As if Toronto wasn’t already a slushy hell in the winter, snow is now falling pre-slushed. So it seemed like appropriate weather to make chili. If you don’t garnish with sour cream and cheddar this is fine for slow carb too. (Yeah it’s got beans, so what wanna fight about it?)

Servings: 8 serving
Ingredients
- 2 kg ground beef
- 1 large quartered carrot , lengthwise and chopped
- 2 cups mushroom sliced
- 1 540 ml black beans cans
- 1 can beer of choice
- 2 tbsps tomato paste
- 3 tbsps chili powder
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 1.5 tbsps paprika
- 1 tbsp chopped garlic
- salt
- pepper
Instructions
- Throw the meat into a pot with the garlic, spices, beans and beer. Bring to a boil then simmer til meat is brown
- Add mushrooms and tomato paste and continue to simmer til mushrooms are soft and beer is evaporated
