butter volume depends on your butter strength and tolerance. Adjust as needed, but 9-12g is enough to coat the bread.
whisk together butter, garlic and garlic powder, cover and return to fridge for at least 3 minutes. Also to come back to room temp again before spreading on the bread. If you're feeling lazy, simply spread the butter on the bread and sprinkle with the garlic powder and skip the chopped garlic
Turn your broiler on high and move a rack to below center, place the bread in the over, butter side up and broil for 1 minute to start the bread crisping process
Remove the bread from the oven, top with shredded cheese and sprinkle evenly with a little more garlic bread, then return to the oven for 3 minutes or until cheese is bubbling and brown spots begin to form
Cut into 2-3 pieces and serve, optionally garnish with chopped parsley
