dry

powdered saffron
1/4
cup
hot water

olive oil

chicken broth
or vegetable stock
sumac
for garnish

onion
chopped fine
butter
Instructions
Heat a sauce pan on medium and saute the onions in the butter until soft- about 3 minutes
In a small bowl whisk together the saffron and warm water
Add the dry rice to the pan, pour in the saffron water and stir to combine
Add the chicken stock, stir again and bring to a boil
reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 10 minutes
Serve rice garnished liberally with sumac
