Combine the spices in a small bowl and mix evenly with a fork
Heat the olive oil in a large soup pot on medium heat. Add the carrots and onions and saute 3-5 minutes til onions are soft and fragrant
stir in the garlic and ginger and continue to saute another 1-2 minutes
Stir in the spice mix and saute another 1-2 minutes til fragrant
Stir in broth, tomatoes, potatoes, lentils and cilantro. Turn the heat to high, bring to a boil then reduce to medium-low, cover and simmer 30 minutes until potatoes are fork tender. Serve garnished with more cilantro.
