Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb tomatillo washed, husked, halved
  • 1/2 large onion peeled, quartered, split into slices
  • 3 large garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 large scotch bonnet pepper or jalapneo or serrano - halved
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup cilantro leaves and stems, chopped

Instructions

  • Set an oven rack in the center and set the oven to broil
  • Place tomatillos, onions, peppers and garlic on baking sheets and broil until deep brown, 7-10 minutes
  • Add all ingredients to a blender and pulse until desired consistency,
  • Adjust to taste with salt and lime juice
