Ingredients

  • 350 g cashews UNSALTED
  • 1 1/4 tsp chinese five spice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  • pre heat oven to 325F with rack in the middle
  • combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix well to thoroughly and evenly coat the nuts in the syrrup and spices
  • spread the nuts evenly on a parchment paper lined baking sheet, bake on middle rack for 20 minutes
  • remove from oven and allow to cool completely, then break the nuts off the paper and apart from each other

Notes

To break apart the nuts easily I pile them into a tupperware container, put on the lid and shake vigorously
