Quick Korean Beef Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsps soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 tsps sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp ginger grated or 1/4 tsp ground
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 green onion , sliced diagonally
  • 3 - 4 cups rice dry
  • sriracha

Instructions

  • Cook the rice to package specifications.
  • Heat oil in a large pan. Add garlic and fry til fragrant- about 30-45 seconds
  • Add the ground beef to the pan and cook til brown. 5-8 minutes. Use a flat wooden spoon to make sure the beef is thoroughly chopped up.
  • To make the sauce whisk together the sugar, soy sauce, water and ginger in a medium sized bowl.
  • Drain the beef's fat, add 3/4 of the green onions and sauce. Cook another 5 minutes or so.
  • Garnish with sriracha sauce and fresh onions.
