Swedish Meatballs on Mashed Turnips

Ingredients

  • 5 - 8 quartered turnip medium u2013 large , peeled and
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp rosemary
  • 3 tbsps italian seasoning
  • cheese grated parmesean (optional)
  • 3 tbsps sauce worchestershire
  • 3 tbsps chopped garlic
  • creamed corn or
  • 1/2 butter stick
  • 1/2 cup cream 10 %

Instructions

  • Turn on your ovenu2019s broiler
  • Cover a baking sheet with wax paper (or donu2019t, whatever)
  • Boil the turnips until soft (20 u2013 30 mins)
  • Mash the turnips in a bowl with butter, salt, pepper and cream)
  • Once itu2019s all mashed together move to a colander or sieve and let drain for awhile. One of the downsides of mashed turnips is the weird turnip runoff milk lookin suff (itu2019s kinda gross lookinu2019)
  • Mix the meat with the spice and the egg.
  • Form the meat into 1/2 inch meat balls and arrange on the baking sheet
  • Broil the balls for 4 minutes, turn and broil another 4 minutes
